About the Senior Strategist – Branded Retail Position

Traditionally Collider has always worked on brand position and culture projects.

Now with the acquisition of Kvantum, you will become the first member of the newly-formed marketing strategy team within Collider Lab. You are essentially leading the charge. The role will define how we can complement our ability to build Brand Overtime (BO) while driving Sales Overnight (SO).

You’ll be mentored by the executive leaders at Collider and Kvantum as we build this capability; and receive guidance from them as to how to formulate the strategic marketing mix recommendations you will deliver that will drive growth on each of your projects.

As a result, you’ll become the subject matter expert on the use of marketing optimization tools to drive effectiveness, and become a leader of marketing strategy and marketing science across all Yum! Brands.

Not only that, you will also have the opportunity to work on external clients in new categories and with new marketing challenges. This keeps the role fresh and exciting, and will keep you inspired and enriched with a broader marketing landscape to work in.

Responsibilities of a Senior Strategist

  1. You’ll be working across multiple brands and countries, and every project will present different retail marketing challenges.
  2. At the core of the role, you’ll be expected to lead the analytical review and interpretation of the current marketing strategy & the data models for each business, that tell us how effective the marketing work is and what components of the marketing mix are driving those outcomes.
  3. You’ll then develop the strategic & tactical marketing optimization recommendations that will address the challenge, and deliver growth to each brand in each market you work on. This includes detailed recommendations on how to use all elements of the marketing mix (e.g. media, promotion, core product, pricing). It also includes creating an agile test & learn partnership with clients, where you will be able to see your recommendations come to life over the longer term.
  4. To create the best recommendations, you’ll be partnering with the team of Kvantum integrators and data scientists. This is an important relationship as it ensures we generate the hypotheses and ask the right questions up front that will allow them to build the data models that really deliver on each client brief. You’ll also be partnering with the team of Collider brand and data strategists, to tap into the rich brand and product history we have that will make your recommendations richer, more robust and brand-equity building
  5. Importantly, you’ll be creating the first ever master knowledge bank for Yum! You’ll be designing the process & collating project learnings into a centralized insights bank. You’ll then create the teaching modules & be part of upskilling all our marketers across the world into what makes brands grow as a result of the work you are doing. This means that you will pioneer how marketing science can fast track our sales growth and brand equity.

Minimum Requirements we look for in a Senior Strategist

  1. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business or economics preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum 6 years within a brand, promotional calendar or digital marketing team.
  3. Expertise: Experience across multiple facets of modern marketing management (e.g. forecasting, sales promotions, product development, pricing, traditional and digital media).
  4. Analytical Skills: Experience in briefing, analyzing and using marketing metrics, qual or quant market research, or data analytics to inform marketing strategy & action.
  5. Communication Skills: Experience in preparing and presenting recommendations to stakeholders (e.g. to franchisees, internal boards, global teams etc.)
  6. Project Management: Relevant experience in leading and managing projects independently. Ability to multi-task and manage each project end to end.

  1. High proficiency in using Excel and PowerPoint
