About the Job:

Here at Taco Bell, our HR Team is referred to as People & Culture. The Field People & Culture (P&C) Director, Equity Operations, is responsible for providing the P&C function with the vision, direction and leadership to support the 13,000+ US Taco Bell Operations team members, across our 450+ company restaurants and delivering a high potential / high performance culture, and leading a dynamic, high-caliber P&C function:

  • Design, develop, implement and evaluate the impact of programs, policies and strategies necessary to properly support the current and future growth needs of the business and ensure a world class employee experience.
  • Build P&C and leadership capability to ensure Taco Bell has the talent in place in our restaurants to deliver our bold vision and stand out as the employer of choice.
  • Deliver a culture that celebrates difference and inclusion, that teams are proud to be part of and where they feel they belong and can be their best selves.
  • Attracting, recruiting and retaining the best and brightest to continue to bring Taco Bell’s strategy to life, from Team Member to Vice President, to build significant bench throughout the organization.
  • Key accountabilities include organizational & employee development, talent planning, change management, leader onboarding, employee relations, talent engagement & retention, labor relations support.

The optimal candidate for this role will be one that has strong cross-collaboration and influencing skills and is highly analytical and adept at conceptual/creative problem-solving. The role will require a mindset and behaviors that illustrate a passion for action that drive results while also ensuring development, support, and structure for a high performing team. This P&C executive will influence multiple teams as a senior business partner to: Taco Bell US Field Operations (Directors & Vice President). This role leads the Field P&C Operations HRBP teams and sits on the Field and Franchise P&C leadership team reporting to the Director, Global L&D & P&C Field.  Key stakeholders / partners include Taco Bell Asset Protection, Taco Bell Legal Director, Taco Bell Communications Director, Taco Bell Finance, Taco Bell Talent Acquisition Director, and Yum Total Rewards.

The Day-to-Day:

Strategic HR responsibilities

  • Develop, drive and lead the TB US Operations People Strategy to position the brand from a people perspective to deliver on organization business growth
  • Lead innovation and future thinking, driving People and Culture initiatives with P&C teams across the US including driving change across the franchise system
  • Act as the confidant and advisor to the Directors of Operations across the US counselling and advising on all aspects of the business to ensure a high potential and high-performance culture
  • Partner with the SVP, Operations and the Director, Global L&D and Field P&C to develop an org design plan for today and the future, strategically placing work and roles where they need to be for the current stage of growth as well as for the future.
  • Develop the overall Field Operations P&C function, ensuring appropriate representation of assigned functions while creating new HR processes, systems and approaches that progress the company as a whole

Employment brand and growth

  • Act as the people brand steward, ensuring that brand strategies and standards are established, well communicated, and executed by the field team
  • Own the in-restaurant employee experience partnering with our Operations partners across the equity-owned Regions and building the brand to be recognized as the employer of choice
  • 25-40% travel as needed. 

Build brand capability and progress the cult

  • Lead complex cross-functional project teams to ensure US Taco Bell Operations’ success through people, driving executional excellence in all aspects of HR
  • Lead a people and culture calendar that grows Taco Bell’s relevance and fame as an employer across the US

Leadership

  • Lead, coach, develop and retain a diverse, high performing and high potential team with an emphasis on strategic analysis, critical thinking, problem solving and business acumen to drive results
  • Identify, develop and guide an ongoing pipeline of talent; build successors, retain key talent, and recruit key hires in order to ensure that the organization has the talent it needs to achieve its short- and long-term goals
  • Instill a highly collaborative working partnership between P&C, Operations, Training, Legal, etc., to achieve business goals
  • As a member of both the Operations leadership team and the Field P&C leadership team, play a leading role in business strategy discussions beyond the function of P&C

Is This You?

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred. A second language beyond English is a plus.
  • Experience working in both non-union and union environments preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in all aspects of Human Resources, including exposure to a multi-state, multi-unit environment.
  • A deep understanding of all aspects of HR, from leadership development to training, to compensation and benefits…with the ability to counsel leaders (both internally and externally) in each discipline
  • Proven ability to influence and lead engagement and best practice implementation across functions
  • Organization design and development experience, including strong change management, for a high growth, decentralized and evolving global business
  • Strong executive presence and proven experience directly supporting senior executives, influencing executives to make better people decisions that achieve business results
  • Talent magnet, with a history of acquiring and developing top talent, both within own P&C organization and within assigned business groups
  • Demonstrated leadership in providing strategic guidance throughout an organization and a track record of delivering quantifiable results
  • A strong relationship-builder and collaborator who takes colleagues and partners along the journey and is not afraid to have difficult conversations
  • Exceptional project and process management skills with a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic business environment

Salary Range: ­­$160,400to $207,680 annually + bonus eligibility + benefits
