Manager, Global Tax Accounting

LOCATIONS: Remote, United States

The Manager will be responsible for preparing the U.S. tax provision and assisting with the consolidation of the global tax provision, including drafting journal entries and the tax footnote. Manager is also responsible for the income tax related Sarbanes Oxley requirements including internal control design, documentation, and testing.

Income Tax Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and/or review of the U.S. income tax provision in Onesource Tax Provision (“OTP”) software at interim periods as well as year-end.
  • Consolidation of the global tax provision in OTP.
  • Assist in identifying, analyzing, and reporting of U.S. uncertain tax positions in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Assist in the calculation and analysis of the U.S. return to provision and tax basis balance sheet review processes for domestic entities.
  • Partner with members of the tax planning group to ensure the consequences of planning strategies are properly included in the effective tax rate.
  • Monitor and analyze proposed/enacted changes in accounting standards and tax law so impacts can be communicated to the team and properly reported.
  • Assist with the preparation and reporting of information required for all interim and annual SEC income tax disclosures.
  • Leverage technology and automation to enhance and simplify global tax accounting processes and procedures.

Internal Control Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the design of all tax department internal controls are properly documented based on processes in place.
  • Coordinate with internal control owners to ensure that control descriptions and flow charts are continually updated, and review thresholds are consistently being applied across all tax department internal controls.
  • Ensure all tax related internal controls associated with U.S. tax provision and the global consolidation process are executed and properly documented.
  • Manage and coordinate the efficient internal testing of all tax department internal controls.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with all internal and external stakeholders as it relates to internal controls including coordinating the delivery of documentation supporting the execution of all internal controls.
  • Assist with internal control deficiency analysis and remediation to the extent necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CPA certification
  • 7-12 years of experience in tax ideally with exposure to both domestic and international tax matters
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools
  • Proficient in Onesource Income Tax (“OIT”) and Onesource Tax Provision (“OTP”)
  • Ability and commitment to work significant hours and overtime during quarterly and year end reporting periods to meet external reporting and filing deadlines

  • Ownership mindset on work products – will proactively go deeper on a problem vs. doing exactly what was assigned
  • Ability to switch between multiple priorities and to function in fast paced environment
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (“HFM”)
