Associate Manager, Architecture & Design

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The AssociateManager., Architecture & Design leads the traditional new build pipeline, and strategic framework development to enable franchise pipeline productivity while. This person will leverage their architectural & design expertise along with strong strategic and influencing skills to ensure faster design approvals & directly impacting our new restaurant openings.

COMPENSATION(Varies based on Skills & Experience): $99,500 - $117,100


  • Manage the entire Corporate Development pipeline, including offering design guidance during site selection by performing site test fits, prototype design, and engaging with National Consultants for due diligence phase of design. Lead the corporate development pipeline through implementation of prototypical designs and site adapts.
  • Design manager for multiple prototypes and concepts including, traditional ground up, inline, new build restaurants and conversions to KFC restaurants. Communicates project ideas through the use of hand sketches, computer design tools such as 3D modelling, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop)
  • Collaborates with multiple cross-functional partners to provide guidance on standardized design packages for multiple new development projects in designated regions.
  • Provides clear, effective and timely communication of design direction and changes to external consultants, cross-functional partners including the Equity Development Team, Operations, and Finance.
  • Manages proposals and agreements for multiple design projects with National Consultants for new build pipeline. Track and document projects through the A&D process and update asset information in a cross functional database.
  • Works closely with A&D team to stay engaged with design updates and new design initiatives.
  • Partner with internal teams to closely align design prototypes while proactively tracking and communicating all scope and spec changes in a fluid environment.
  • Demonstrate strong influencing skills – ability to provide clear, effective and timely communication of design direction and changes to external consultants to impact the speed and quality of designs.
  • Maintenance of A&D pipeline tracking system related to new build pipeline

Education/Certifications – BS in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.

  • Related Professional registrations/certifications are a plus


  • Multi-unit restaurant design, retail design or hospitality experience in an architectural firm or a corporate organization focused on construction documents (min 3-5 years of expanding responsibility)
  • CADD proficiency with Autodesk AutoCad required, Revit experience a plus.
  • Project management experience specific to building design, permitting and general construction administration.
  • Managing external architecture, design and engineering consultants.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of software (Excel, Power point, Access, etc.)


  • Ability to balance design with operational needs and budgets resulting in successful execution of restaurant environments.
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication of design issues.
  • Knowledge of architectural details and specifications for document production and coordination.
  • Current working knowledge of health codes, accessibility compliance and building codes.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong personal accountability to meet and exceed goals, tracking performance towards objectives.
