Manager, Restaurant Food Safety

This position will be responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality standards for Pizza Hut US with a 35% focus on the Global Restaurant Team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the US Restaurant and Supply Food Safety Program.
  • Oversee a Supply Food Safety category using restaurant expertise to drive farm to fork compliance.
  • Establish a comprehensive 1–5-year roadmap for PH US restaurant food safety with a global overview that aligns with Yum FSQ goals, operational strategies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the US liaison for restaurant quality and food safety as changes in YUM quality compliance is required.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with US senior leaders, Operations, and Supply Chain to align efforts and ensure the restaurant food safety strategy is successful.
  • Monitor and drive the food safety, quality, and supplier performance for assigned food categories. Connect with key partners to develop and promote positive business results through open communication and strong partnerships.
  • Drive superior quality products by leading and providing daily support for the PH FSQ Product Evaluation program and continuing to enhance and develop the future strategy of this program.
  • Utilize specification management, supplier audits, product evaluations, and non-conformance monitoring to ensure compliance to all Pizza Hut standards and specifications. Partner with our Third-Party Restaurant Food Safety Audit Team to ensure standards are clear and applied correctly to drive continuous improvement with our supplier base.
  • Work with product development suppliers, RSCS, and Operations teams to onboard new suppliers and ingredients to support menu strategy.
  • Support new product innovation, providing technical knowledge of supplier process capabilities and providing suggestions or alternatives that help move these projects forward for the business.
  • Will oversee the product evaluation program to ensure consistent delivery of superior product quality for both U.S. and internationally distributed products manufactured in the U.S.
  • Leads, develops, and mentors a high-performing team by prioritizing regular 1:1s, coaching, and feedback, fostering a culture of continuous growth and development.

Required Qualifications:

  • You will be required to attend the Plano, TX office 3 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in restaurant; supply chain food safety and global experience is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in Food Safety and Quality system auditing, process capabilities, manufacturing, root cause analysis, environmental monitoring, as well as HACCP. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of government regulations and the roles of FDA, USDA, Food Code, and Crisis Management. 
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of economic metrics pertinent to facility and business operations.
  • Core Skills: Proven leadership and team-building abilities. 
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and data management skills. 
  • Practical problem solver who offers scientifically supported recommendations for testing methods and collaborates with teams to enhance quality programs.

  • Travel 20-30%

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Food Science (desirable), Biology, Food Engineering, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field.

Salary Range: $129,000 to $140,000 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
