Associate Manager, Market Planning

LOCATIONS: Plano

What You’ll Be Serving Up:

This role involves leading the development and implementation of key growth strategies for KFC US. This includes managing projects, providing analytical support, and engaging with franchisees on white box market planning. Additionally, this role will partner on ownership strategies for franchisee consolidation and corporate expansion.

Here’s How You’ll Spice Things Up:

Strategic Development Analytics (50%)

  • Provide strategic frameworks, and data-driven insights to drive US growth - Includes competitive performance, development-related items (site quality, trade area grade, etc.), unit operational performance, as well as other data that drives results.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making in key meetings, such as Investment Committee meetings and RFDM connects 
  • Develop frameworks and dashboards to identify underperforming stores, extract key learnings, and steer the business on path to profitable openings.
  • Develop and maintain key suite of standard reporting and analytics that enable team productivity, accelerate decision making, improve forecasting, and drive insights-based action. 

Market Planning, GIS/Development Systems (50%)

  • Develop and track a comprehensive corporate expansion strategy, influencing key stakeholders to prioritize market share growth.
  • Foster innovative thinking to develop in-house processes and explore non-traditional and urban expansion avenues to drive brand growth.
  • Collaborate with franchisees on white box market planning to build trust and confidence.
  • Continued exploration of new Market Planning tools and supporting programs to ensure KFC maintains its position at the forefront of Market Planning technology and capability

What You Bring to the Table:

Education: Bachelor’s degree – BA/BS in Real Estate, Finance, Business or related field with GIS/Alterryx

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of development, real estate, strategy, or finance experience with demonstrated organizational impact and increasing responsibility in related areas.  Experience in multi-unit restaurant/retail industry preferred.

Skills:

  • Must have strong internal motivation, intellectual curiosity, logical thinking, and a desire to have a large commercial impact on the organization.  Being a Customer Maniac is a must.
  • Must have proven track record driving results via creative thinking and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task & generate actionable recommendations.  Demonstrated track record of strong Project Management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal & team skills with ability to present to Senior Leadership.
  • Previous experience with modeling complex business issues in order to influence decisions with a data driven point of view.   
  • Clear influencing, communication, and organizational skills are a necessity.  Ability to partner well with cross functional departments and work with all levels. 
  • Ability to efficiently manage workload well with shifting priorities.  Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced and deadline-driven environment. 
  • Strong system/technical skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite with strong/advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.  Knowledge of Power BI, computer programming, GIS, Alteryx and real estate related tools is a plus as well as experience with dash-boarding/automation of reporting.
