About the Job

The Operations Improvement Coach role will focus on helping franchise partners enhance their operational performance by providing hands-on support and guidance. Working as part of the Operations team, this role involves building strong relationships with franchisees and their operators, offering practical solutions to improve operational standards and ensure they are consistently executed to drive results for our customers, our teams, and to grow.  

The successful candidate also will need to recommend/manage the appropriate interventions and/or consequences for underperforming partners. They will work closely with the wider Operations team which includes our Restaurant Excellence team, as well as our HR team to deliver insights and the latest best practice working towards driving our franchise partners to be self-sufficient.  They will need to work cross-functionally to be able to identify when to connect franchisee partners with cross-functional Restaurant Support Centre (RSC) teams to advise them on areas outside of their scope. Authentic leadership, strategic thinking and strong coaching skills are required to develop Informed, Capable and Engaged Franchisees. 

Supporting Franchise Operations 

  • Assist in implementing UK operations strategy and helping franchise partners apply in in their restaurants/businesses 
  • Identify operational challenge and support franchisees in developing solutions to improve customer experience 
  • Share best practices from successful locations and work to scale these approaches across other franchise partners 
  • Guide franchisees on achieving key operational and functional metrics, helping them understand the impact of their performance on business success
  • Support the roll out of new initiatives through helping create buy-in assisting with training and on the ground support with franchise partners.

Build Franchise Capability

  • Establish strong relationships with franchise partners by understanding their business needs and supporting operational improvements
  • Spend time on-site with franchise partners and their teams (an average of 3 days per week) to observe operations, provide feedback and help with action planning.
  • Assist in creating improvement plans to help franchise partners build operational and people capability.
  • Ensure that franchisees are meeting brand standards, including completing follow-up on operational audits and assisting with corrective action plans.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to franchisees and their teams, ensuring they understand and implement company policies, training and development practices
  • Assist in quarterly business reviews to track franchisee progress on operational performance, people development and strategic objectives.
  • Support the development of operational capability within franchise teams, helping Restaurant General Managers (RGMs) and Area Coaches (AC) grow in their roles.
  • Help facilitate connections between franchisees and cross-functional teams for additional support when needed.

You’re Good At/ You Have

Experience 

  • QSR/Retail Field operational experience 
  • Good level of commercial acumen
  • Experience working in a franchise/commercial-led business
  • Strength in building and developing relationships
  • Skilled in root-cause problem solving methodologies and analysing data 
  • Outstanding action driving ability, and attention to detail in managing process
  • Knowledge of training metrics and how to influence these, ability to interpret people analytics to drive capability and performance. 
  • Ability to present ideas and teachings to different audiences in an engaging and persuasive manner
